But do you need a lie flat seat if your flight is only 3 hours?

How wide the seats are matters a LOT less than legroom for comfort. Especially when obesity was less of a large problem.

Idk all that champagne would make me forget about the lack of a lie flat

For a 3hr transatlantic flight, I wouldn't be mad if I was cramped. Try doing that on a 737, now that is much worse!

I’m 6 feet tall and it was tremendously comfortable. You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. We had Recaro racing seats and the pitch was perfect. I had my first taste of Johnny Walker Blue on there, and they gave me the bottle to take home. There was no door on the cockpit and they would give us a tour in flight. On one flight I sat across the aisle from Jacques Cousteau, another time one of Michael Jackson’s IP/entertainment attorneys, and met several other interesting people.

I know a UK employee of an American Bank. They put together a loan deal which was too large for anyone in the London office to sign off. So a London employee flew over to NYC, got the relevant documents signed, and then flew back - all in the same day.

It was worth it. I am 6’1” and I wasn’t cramped at all. I was in the redesigned interior on a BA Concorde a couple of times. Service and food were unparalleled

The vast majority of passengers on Concorde were flying from New York to London or Paris/Vice versa, having a business meeting, then flying home same day. They were there for work, not for leisure

The guy who did a video about his experience on the last passenger concorde flight said that he had no discomfort on the concorde like people claimed. 🤷‍♂️

Before long? She flew for 50+ years. The luxury was the fact you could get up fly to england have a meeting, grab a meal and fly home. Same day wake up and go to be in your own bed. No jet lag and same day vs 3 days. For many people that was the luxury they needed.

Can't belive civilians used to fly in Mach 2 speed decades ago and flew to moon. Nowadays getting an astronaut back from ISS is a more challenging.

You think the concorde was bad, then imagine the TU-144...

The people that could afford to fly on Concorde did so because time is more valuable to them than money. These people did not need in flight entertainment, every second is valuable to them so they were having meetings on the plane, conducting business, planning out strategies. Have a nice stake and champagne on the plane and when they land go do business.

I flew on Concorde, the service was amazing.

3 hour flight beats 8 hours flight any time.
Also Concored was designed by europeans.
Europeans fit in 17 inches seats just fine...

I miss seeing concord flying in the skies above London it was a thrill for me as a kid back in the 70s and have to admit shedding a tear as i saw it flying on its last day of active service.😢

I flew it twice, once on Air France, once on British Airways. It was reasonsbly comfy, but not overly spacious. Remember, however, you were only on it for like four hours.

It was never an economic proposition. It was always a prestige thing.
