Jayden has the Harry Potter complex where he wants to do things for himself but for no actual reason

I like Joel Rawlings... at the beginning he is the jokester and doesn't take anything seriously... but when the story went on he express genuine concern for Dr. Fairweather and a subtle thing to notice his development and maturity... with his cowboy hat. At the beginning he would wear it constantly, but as the story went on his hat were getting less frequent until the point he stopped wearing it for the last few episodes.

But actually, this 3rd one's pretty nuts, lol. Hopefully in a good way!

Sidebar, I'm glad I was able to slip a Green Day reference into this vid ;)

I expected Nick to be on this list, plus he seems to give up at first fault, IMO

It's never the actors involved. You can only do so much with a bad script and bad direction.

Mighty morphin was so goo d because the had a lot of time to progress as a character and as a person

i personally like nick and jayden. i could argue against some of the points you made but i still agree on some.
while he does come off as an asshat sometimes, he doesnt necessarily stay the same for the entire time. he is shown to make up for his bad actions. for example when realizes how much he misunderstood why madison made videos, he did apologize and earned a spell code that helped him fight koragg. he refused to accept leelee's friendship at first but when she helped rescue udonna he was the first to accept her as a member of the mystic force. as far as refusing koraggs help in "dark wish, " its not as nick was aware of the tension between koragg and imperious. they were both evil so it was a natural call to group them together.
jaydens "complex" never bothered me. he didnt just recieve traing from mento ji for a while, it was literally his whole childhood. in fact at the end of super samurai, ji decides that it was time to teach jayden how to have fun

Also, I agree that the actors usually aren't the ones who make or break a character, not just with Power Rangers but with acting of all sorts in general. Teen Titans Go and Victor and Monty are prime examples of this. Even bad actors can be ironically hilarious like Nic Cage and Tommy Wiesau. It takes an especially bland actor (and again, not the ironically hilarious type of bland like Christopher Walken and Ben Stein, though that's often mostly due to their blandness being used to the producers'/directors' advantage than anything else) to ruin a character and those aren't always easy to come by.

I liked this video before watching bc judging by the title and thumbnail I know it’s gonna be good LOL

EDIT: ok before I get serious I wanna share my two favorite likes from this video “what do we know about Troy in the first episode?....that I was dying, but my favorite was when you said

“Jesus of the shiba clan” LOLOLOLOL, I was in the floor BAHAHAHAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Ok I’m done lol, now you asked why we think makes a good and bad ranger, and this may be the cheesiest most predictable answer for this question ever, but I really respect a ranger is they are rough around the edges or is a bad character, but grows! That is something I think power rangers does best when they try too, try GROW THE PERSON AS A RANGER AND CHARACTER! they give them trials, they give them reasons too do what they do! They give them heart! And BRAINS! *cough* nick *cough* and just make them interesting while still making them make sense! Like Casey 😍

Anyway, a bad ranger is basically the opposite of what I just said, it’s when the writers are lazy and don’t give the character any heart! OR BRAINS (NICK) I think power rangers is a good example of actions speak louder then words, like in your argument for Jaden (Jesus of the shiba clan 😂) Troy had like NO EMOTION! I swear his face stayed the same the whole

Anyway, that’s my boring input lol, Great vid! I would love a counter part too it! Mainly so I may praise Casey for his amazingly amazing ness, even if he is not on the greatest list lol

Mike had so much potential given his sentai counterpart and the more relaxed attitude his family took with his Samurai lifestyle

I'd like to note I havent actually SEEN any of the nickelodeon power rangers, so those guys are out immediately. Cant talk about a character ive never seen
But personally I like Nick, if only because 1. Mystic Force was my first, and 2. I do kind of like how his personality contrasts everyone else. He's a needed evil in my eyes. Also it makes some of the later story bits (primarily around Koragg) a lot more believable. just my 2 cents on Nick

As for Rangers I don't like...I'm personally against Shane. I don't know why, it always felt like he was..underutilized? Note I haven't watched ninja storm in a few years. I kind of wish Dustin or Cam were the red rangers or at least had a greater role, but mostly Cam, because we haven't ever gotten a red ranger who's main trait is his intelligence to my knowledge, and it would add another element since he would know how some of their tech worked.

unrelated note but I've always been more drawn to rangers like RJ, Chip and Dustin, because their bright personality embodies the idea of hope- and to me, Hope is the main theme for the series as a whole.
Bridge and Ziggy also count, but those 2 are...less liked for me because of how Bridge isn't given as much time and because Ziggy is comic relief too much.
Personally Chip might be my favorite ranger because he acts A LOT like me when I was a kid, his love to be a hero is amazing and pure and just...makes me cheer whenever he gets some spotlight, and his unorthodox way of doing things really embodies who he is (see how he helped Vida during her vampire stint, and how he realized she WAS a vampire in the first place.)
Also he can become a Thunderbird, that's ultra cool for a lover of lightning abilities like me

Jayden, I slightly disagree with it, he did learn he just took it slowly bye the end he actually learned by the end and throughout the show slowly but gradually he starts being more a team player the problems he had at the beginning faded

Nick on the other hand I agree he had potential but it was wasted like you said

Unpopular opinion.
I liked Jayden. He is in my top five favorite red rangers.
And Troy wasn't as bad as everyone says he is.
I like Nick but I do agree they could've done more with his character.

I always liked Nick, but you made some good points about him. His backstory could have been fleshed out a lot more.

i feel kinda bad for the megaforce cast. the writers and producers really screwed them over. not saying they r the best actors but they just got screwed, kinda how the ninja steel people r being screwed and samurai
