Myron is right in an ideal situation, and thats the way it usually was when I was a kid in the 70s, but the cost of living has gone up dramatically, inflation, food, gas, housing, all of its out of control, and wages have not kept up with it, the gap keeps widening and in the 80s when women started working more, and more its gotten where for a normal family, its necessary for husband and wife to both work just to get by, Im 57, I live near Seattle, and I have decent income, low end of six figures, and I will never afford a house, and I will be working until I die, and theres ALOT of people that make less than me... a wife working isnt a luxury, its usually a necessity, the government and greedy corporations have made it where the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer ... I heard it was said that 3 of the top earning tycoons make more than the bottom half of the population, and they dont pay taxes, its immoral and twisted
