Показать описание
In this week’s episode we take a look at DEITY’s SPD-1 battery distribution system. The SPD-1 allows you power all of the gear in your sound bag by connecting up to 3 separate batteries or power sources at a time, and hot-swap them when necessary. In this video we overview the SPD-1’s feature set, demonstrate how you might use it with your sound kit, and discuss how battery distribution systems can make your job on set or on location easier. Let’s take a closer look!

7:35 On the Deity website it says that the Zoom F6 is compatible with the cable. Will it be able to run at full capacity?

Was hoping you would review this product. Looking to get one soon. Thanks

I would have maybe thought twice before buying my BDSV4 from Remote Audio after seeing this model given the features and the price point. The cons for me with the Deity would be that i needed more DC locking barrel plugs for my wireless rather than 4 pin Hirose, and the higher cost of 4 pin cables that may need to be adapted for my wireless receivers(using Sennheiser G4’s with dummy batteries wired with dc barrel plugs)

Hi Curtis. I was especially interested in this due to the USB-C input option, specifically being able to run a bag/cart off house power/simple laptop voltage USB wallplug. Have you tested the USB-C input? I tried using it with a laptop charger (as Deity suggests) on a shoot the other day, but the SPD-1 was showing it would only receive 9V from USB, instead of the desired 12V.

Nice review Curtis. I don't think I've seen a definitive answer from Deity or reviewers on this question. Will the SPD-1 supply sufficient power via the Hirose connection to an 888/SL2 combo in order to power the recorder, both slots and the two DC outputs of the SL2?

Coming from the field of electronics I know that unfiltered non isolated power outputs can affect devices that are powered in parallel.
I wonder if you experience any noise issues, although I doubt it because it is more common when you power more simple analogue devices.
Also the non current regulation of its outputs can be a good thing because in cheaper devices the electronics are prone to failure that could cause damage to the devices they power. If the regulator is not there in the first place one less thing to go wrong.

Thanks for the detailed review. One thing i don't get is that the power draw from an 888 plus sl2 is afaik in some cases a bit too much for what hirose plugs are rated for, hence the ta4 in the sd 8 generation. Why use a device that has that high power rating on the input side but not on the output?
Other than that, great product i'm really considering for my 633bag

If you have an 888 with an SL-2 (as you did in this video) then there's not much point to using the Deity is there? You can just run your smart battery into the 888 (using the 888 to monitor telemetry) and use the SL-2's outputs to power everything else. I guess the manual toggle switches might be a benefit in some circumstances tho?

Hi Curtis, great review as always! Have you tried powering the Mixpre through the usb-a port, using an adapter to usb-c?

Did I understand correctly that this will not power sounds devices mix pre 6? Or were you referring only to the USBC output?

Thank you

Hi Curtis - what wireless receivers are you showing in your bag in this video?

Thanks Curtis! So to be clear, you can power an 888 with this, but NOT a MixPre-3? Even from the dedicated USB-C?

Sweet - do you like it as much as the Triple Play?

Does anyone know if Deity ever addressed the mixpre 3 issue?

Looking good Curtis! You changed your color grading?

I’ve seen there are rear adaptors to add Hirose to MixPre-3 from Sound Devices as well as others, would that do the trick?

Not clear to me how you powered the 888 via the SPD, or was the 888 connected to the SPD?
