I completed this course two years ago. Yes, the projects require a lot more than 6 - 9 hours per week. I worked on it full-time but could only finish it 6 months.

The Reactjs they cover is very very basic. I don't know if they've improved but Brian used class-based components in the course whereas the React ecosystem has switched to function-based components.

Yeah, the bootstrap is decent.

I don't really think you need to take cs50x before this course. At least I only completed CS50X this year (two years after completing cs50W). But I believe you need prior exposure to html, css, JavaScript, Python and maybe some Django.

The avalanche joke in this video is perfectly accurate. Although they try to explain everything from scratch, things escalate very quickly.

I think this course is great for someone who has watched programming and web development tutorials but lacks confidence due to insufficient hands-on experience. This course will force you to go hands-on thus breaking free from tutorial hell.

Thanks for the nice video! I note that the course was recorded in 2020. I wonder how relevant it still is. Are folks still using Django, etc.

It is best to take cs50x, finishing final project creating some web application using plain JS, CSS/Bootstrap, and Flask for backend (it is taught in the final week of cs50x), and then carefully watch every cs50w lecture with coding side by side with brian, even pausing lectures and trying on your own. It would definitely be more than 1.5 hours per lecture (maybe 3-4) but you will be more ready for the following projects, which are tough.

Good thing is that you have lot of freedom for every project solution, so it can be definitely part of your portfolio.

I have finished more than 50 courses, but this was (will be 😅, because I have two project to finish) one of the best, worth taking it for free.

I actually wanted to be a backend developer. Just finish cs50p... But still working on my final project. Chatgpt recommended CS50W. I don't know if it is the best option because of the javeracript,

I have completed cs50x and can I take this ( I want something from which I should be able to learn most of the things cs50x felt like some parts are skipped for us to learn yet it was good because I learnt how to think like a programmer rather than all the syntaxes and techniques)

What???we learn react and that's not even a selling point???
I took cs50x and cs50p ... Probably tomorrow will start cs50w ... And i had no idea react was on it (must more interesting), and i even saw the webpages for the lectures and the problems ... Didn't actually read anything but still ... I only knew about Django

WELL, GUESS WHAT IS THE ONLY COMPUTER COURSE CERTIFICATE I HAVE AT THE lol... To be fair tho, this course could really benefit me... I think... (especially because my web dev skills are so lackluster...)

Harvard courses escalate from 0-100 real quick.
Most of the hands on practice you are not taught in these 2hour videos, they treach you how to use you brain and no spoon feeding
