Evapo Tip #5: Use Evapo-Rust® to Remove Rust on Chrome

Evapo-Rust® is a great to use on old car parts such as hubcaps, exhausts, ashtrays, and more because rust removers are rarely safe to use on chrome parts. It is important to keep the original parts when restoring old cars to preserve the authenticity. Evapo-Rust® will safely remove the rust from any chrome part quickly and in your own garage. This is less expensive than buying new chrome parts and will save you time searching for parts at car shows and garages.

To use: Fully immerse the rusted chrome parts for 30 minutes to a day, depending on the amount of rust, then rinse the items with water and let dry. It is safe to use chrome polish after the part is fully dry. If the items are too large to dip in a container you can place a paper towel soaked in Evapo-Rust® on the rusted item and cover it with plastic wrap. It is best to tape the plastic wrap to the item to prevent moisture from escaping. Let the paper towel sit for 24 hours before rinsing with water.

The solution can be re-used until it is spent. When the solution turns completely black it means that it is spent and cannot remove any more rust.

Thanks for this. I am working on restoring a Levin jewelers lathe, 100 years old. It should never have been allowed to rust. I have great faith in your product.
