Показать описание
Evapo-Rust® is a super safe rust remover. It is great for home and shop use because it is safe on skin, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-flammable. Evapo-Rust has no harsh fumes or foul odors, and it is safe to dispose the spent product in any local sewer system because it is environmentally friendly and biodegradable.

Evapo-Rust® will not harm metals, rubber, plastic, PVC, Viton, un-rusted steel, chrome, rubber, plastic, wood, most paints, clothing, or glass. De-rusting with Evapo-Rust® will provide 10-14 days of rust inhibition depending on the humidity. Evapo-Rust® Rust-Block™ is a solution that prevents rust from forming on tools, hardware, equipment and other ferrous metals that you simply sprayed on and it will protect your items for even longer.

It is important to maintain a healthy bath if you are letting something soak for a long period of time. It is best to mark a fluid line on the container after you place your object in to soak. Evapo-Rust® is a water based solution so if the fluid level decreases just pour water in and stir.

The solution can be re-used until it is spent. It will change from yellow to brown and then to black. When it is black, it will not remove any more rust, and it is time to dispose of it.

I used your Evapo-Rust in a Kawasaki tank with the air of some heating. The result was far far better than I could have hoped for.

Gets kind of expensive if you have say a 5 gallon Harley tank to completely fill it with $29.99 a gallon Evapo-Rust! then rubbing alcohol to flush! Try the $3.00 a gallon White vinegar trick first.

Is it possible to leave it in the tank for too long? I've been treating mine for about 36+ hrs. because of the odd shape I couldn't get the level high enough to clean the rim where the cap seals (with a pivoting press down type cap). I had to keep topping it off to finally get it where the level didn't drop. I also left the cap open for the final top off because it pushes some out when I close it. I did notice that the locking mechanism looks like zinc and the Evapo-rust seems to have dissolved the surface a little, when I touched it some gray substance rubbed off onto my hand. I thought ER only removed corrosion from ferrous metal. Could it be zinc corrosion coming off or that part is possibly magnesium? I did read on the bottle that you aren't supposed to use it on magnesium. I wouldn't think that part could be made of magnesium, zinc is so much cheaper. Have you people run into this situation?

Also, is there any difference (other than color) from the older yellow solution and the newer CRC branded clear solution and are they compatible/mixable?

I know this is an ancient post but I'm hoping it's monitored so I can get answers. If not, I'll call the company hotline.

I have a machine that the internal thread has rusted I don’t like the idea of adding water through the thread as it will make it likley to rust again. Does rinsing with vinegar work. What are your ideas on how I can de rust a internal thread of a machine, I will then buy a new stainless steel bolts to go in the machine internal thread.

I need to remove the rust from a generator gas tank. It holds about 7 gallons. Instead of buying 7 jugs of Evapo-Rust can I use one or two and rotate the tank over several days so all surfaces get soaked?

Does the tank need to be rinsed after the rust is removed or can I coat it directly after it is dry inside?

What is the purpose of rinsing with rubbing alcohol?

I agree with David.. except for  2 things.  1. Pay attention to the room temperature and keep it about 70 degrees. 2. It is Necessary to Recoat your Tank, other wise the unprotected steel will rust again.. and fast. This is why the mfg. coats the tank at the factory.  Use 3M  Fuel Proof Coating or Kreem tank liner.    Follow their  directions !
