Hi is very correct!! I’m a proud Luo from 🇰🇪 and love my identity. One section of the migrants went West to the Ibo community in Nigeria.

Fantastic conversation here. The more we need to encourage the making of EAC as one country. And we should include Ethiopia and CAR. We have our brothers and sisters spread out in CAR and Ethiopia too. Let's reunite the Luo Nation.

Lango, Karamojong, Teso and Turkana are the same ethnic group. Acholi people refer to the Karamojongs as "Lango Dyang". Langis are Luo speaking but not Luo. Teso people refer to the Karamojong people as their uncles. There are some Luo people in Ethiopia, there is the Alur people who descended from Gipir, and Acholi's in North Uganda and South Sudan from Labongo, as some of the descendants continued looking for greener pastures, others settled in present Tororo bcoz their leader had a big ulcer wound on his leg (Adola), hence Jopadhola, others continued to present Kenya and even Tanzania near Lake Victoria called.Jaluo. Luos are very influential people. Those around them tend to speak their language or some of it. Including adopting their names. Check out the traditional dances.

As a Luo man, it was interesting to hear this different perspective. I've always been fascinated on learning about migration.

The Luo travels from the city of Ur in Iran to the city of Uruk, in Iraq, Ur is Acholi Luo words. It means the city of wonder or place where wonder is done and Adam was named in Luo language which means brain Adam means brain and the place where Noah Ark landed Mount Ararat, was name in Acholi Luo language Ararat means a place where things were found scattered dead bodies of all sorts of all living being that was left dead and smelly was found from Uruk is when the Luo travels to Ethiopia and to. Yarusalem now known as Jerusalem and to Albion Africa was not known as Africa it was known as Alkebula and many other names such as Libya

Actually, when one reads the bible, old testaments you find a lot of laws - the dos' and don'ts' described in the old testament being the same as the traditional trainings and rituals performed in Acoli traditional religious (cik Acoli). The similarities is quite amazing. I recently discussed this with the elders, and they said it all goes back to our ancient origins passed on to generations later, only to be interrupted by the arrival of the Christian religion.

When you read the old testament, there's no difference with the Luo culture and beliefs. What I don't understand is how the Luo are related to the Igbo of Nigeria cos they share names and cultural practices and another group in Senegal
