Beautiful, thank you for sharing - we need more stuff like this. My grandmother made the best crepes and I'd put butter, lemon, and sugar on them and then roll them up - lots of sugar haha.

I just roll my Crepes up while they're still warm and dunk them in powdered sugar.

Pancake Tuesday, using up the fat, before Lent on Ash Wednesday. It probably made more sense in Mediterranean countries, where winter didn't persist as long and where fat was more likely to degrade in the higher temperatures. There is a story about pope Pius 2 earlier years, 1435 when he got caught in a storm, who underestimates the hardship of making modest pilgrimages in northern climates. Pancake races for ladies while flipping pancakes was another, ...not sure it still goes on.
