The reviewer was so busy not liking the car that he missed a lot. No mention of the carbon fiber reinforced polymer used to reduce weight while protecting the occupants. No mention of the significant reduction in the cost to operate versus ICE vehicles. No mention of the three levels of recharging the battery while providing access to carpool lanes in many states. Fortunately, if you have any interest in checking out the future of personal transportation and BMWs, dealers will provide an extended test drive over a few days. Do your own (more complete) review.

I live in Portland I've been seeing them around a lot over the past year. This video doesn't do it complete justice. I think it has a great modern design in person. I'd love to own one! Thanks for the video!

The design choices BMW made have a purpose. The plunging rear windows really enhance visibility for rear passengers.

The brakes are very good. With strong regen you rarely have to press the brakes and it makes it easier in city traffic. The brakes themselves stop better than other BMW 3 series without sport package at 109 ft from 60mph as tested by Edmunds. For comparison a 328i (some say a benchmark for sport sedans) stops in 118 ft as tested by your own Cars.com. You also say the 328 had "effortless stopping power" so you would think the i3 would deserve even higher praise stopping 9ft shorter.

With the $7, 500 federal tax credit, plus state credits like Colorado's $4k tax credit or Georgia's $5k credit (now expired), it makes the i3 the cheapest car BMW sells in the US.

Love our two i3s. After combining state $5k and federal $7, 500 tax incentives and some negotiations $10k our nearly fully optioned $50k i3 costs $27, 500. Over a two year lease/owners choice the net cost is $1, 500 or $62 per month. Plus it saves about $200/month in gas.

Just bought one six weeks ago. Love everything about it. Well, I do wish the tires were a little meatier and less preciously thin. But the torque is simply amazing. Makes it the perfect around-town car. In 1600 miles, which includes a 400 mile road trip from Montauk to DC, I've only put about three gallons of gas in it and spent about $30 in charging fees. I've spent more on washer fluid than gas. I've always mocked Prius and Leafs. The i3 is goofy too, but it's truly extraordinary.

This is called modern/clean design. If you're forward thinking, need a city car, but want it rear-wheel drive, you either get this, the i8, or the tesla. For the non-millionaires, this is the only fun-to-drive option.

LOL Breaking isn't that strong? I just watched another test where is consistently breaks from 60MPH to 0 in 116 feet! That's actually outstanding!

For anyone who didn't think the Aztec was bad, or who sees a Prius and thinks, hey not bad.

The rear seats are certainly NOT decent for adults, go see the i3 in person if you don't believe me.
