READ THE FAQs BEFORE COMMENTING:
Q: Why are cars towed from your lot?
A: Because they're parked illegally and take up space our customers need, 24 hours.

Q: But it's night-time. Businesses are closed at night. Do you really have to tow at night?
A: Yes. This business is NOT closed at night. It's very common for techs to visit in the overnight times in order to do maintenance on servers and systems. It's also possible that deliveries may need to be made during after-hours times.

Q: How do you know if it's a customer or not?
A: There is various technology at work to help with this. But the simplest answer is that if they're not in the building and they haven't checked in with the tech desk, their car doesn't belong in the lot.

Q: You suck.
A: That's not a question, but I get the point. And I've heard it all before. I understand you think you've got a witty, original insult for me. You probably don't. Save yourself the humiliation.

Q: Do you read the comments?
A: Sometimes against my better judgement, generally, yes.

Q: Why don't you just rent out spaces and make money?
A: Because that would eliminate parking spaces for the real customers of the business. It's not worth the few bucks.

Q: Do you get paid a fee or kickback for the towed cars?
A: No.

Q: Are there signs posted about not to park?
A: Yes. No fewer than 6. Usually more if they're not damaged or destroyed.

Q: Your signs are misleading. Do they say 24 hours? Should they be mounted differently?
A: The signs specify 24 hours / 7 days a week. They're mounted in accordance with local laws.

Q: How many cameras do you have?
A: More than 60. Some you can see, some are hidden.

Q: What kind of cameras do you use?
A: A lot of different kinds, based on the application.

Q: Do you feel bad for these people who get towed?
A: Most of the time, not really.

Q: Why are you making fun of the people who get towed?
A: I'm not. I'm posting the videos because I think they're entertaining and educational.

Q: How come you never post videos of cars that belong there?
A: Because that wouldn't be entertaining at all. It would be completely boring.

Q: Why don't you stop people from parking?
A: Sometimes we do! It all depends on if we are able to catch what's happening live, but the company's techs have their jobs to do and are not always available to have their eyes glued to the parking lot cameras and be able to run outside.

Two months!!
No calls, no texts, not even a postcard. I don’t know if I can love you anymore.
Whom I kidding, I’m addicted to those damn drumbeats. “You had me at hello.”

Your videos warm my heart. For years I ran a business in the Harbor Strip of L.A. County. I had three reserved parking spaces, one for myself and two for customers and after hours use much like your little lot. The parking in the area was so bad that often people had to park 2-3 blocks from their homes because it was initially a single family zoned area that eventually became all apartment buildings and the City/County didn't require parking considerations when issuing building permits for apartment houses when the area became built up. I would have as many as a half dozen cars towed in an after-hours span from close to open of business.

One time I came back from a tech call at about 11 PM and there was a motorcycle parked in my spot. So I moved it out of the way and parked. Being as the bike's steering was locked to the side that wasn't easy but I was trying to be nice to my neighbors. The owner of the motorcycle claimed I damaged his bike while moving it. I've owned several bikes and knew I didn't hurt it one bit. I explained it was that or have it hauled away.. I informed him that I had learned my lesson about moving motorcycles and about being nice and invited him to sue me for damages to his bike. I also told him the next time he parked his bike there I'd have it hauled away. He did. I did.

What is it with people who think that those signs don't apply to them? Especially when there is video surveillance, which I had much the same as GTOger's. I even had people who figured out about how long it took for the tow truck to arrive and would try to get back to their car before the tow got there. Which was stupid because sometimes the tow truck was just down the street when the call came in for an impound.

I was always really careful to monitor the lot after calling the towing company and cancel the tow if the car owner got back and left before the tow truck arrived. In L.A. the traffic can be a serious time issue for the truck to arrive so the towing company was used to cancellations and appreciated the effort. Then they'd just re-dispatch the truck from where it's at to the nearest tow next on the list. They were a lot less understanding about arriving to tow a car that wasn't there and you wanted to be careful about wasting their time with wild goose chases if you wanted them to respond promptly.

It got to be a game to see if I could get a car off my lot before the owner came back and drove it away. Most of the people abusing the parking were either neighbors or guests of neighbors, there wasn't any sort of restaurants or after hours attractions in the area. Sometimes I'd take a gamble that it was a local and not a guest and wait until I knew the tow company wasn't busy. Like at 3 AM. Then call and have the car towed. People would go to bed and see their car safe and sound (they thought) parked in my private lot ... Only to wake up and have to find a ride to work in the morning. Because where they left their car when they went to bed was now nothing but air, or had another (authorized) vehicle parked there.

Does that make me an asshole? If so, I don't care. You're not special and you're not entitled to take something that's not yours. If it's posted "No Parking" and there's a phone number for the impound then the owner is serious. If it's at all possible your vehicle WILL be towed. You need to pretend like that parking space just does not exist. Because for you it doesn't and if you park there what happens after that is all on you.

I love how in most cases, the cars were towed after multiple hours. Means you actually gave these idiots SOME parking time.

There was another scooter just a bit further down the road against the building. It must have been there longer than 4 days.

One thing that impresses me with your videos is that you notice everything, even the smallest details that the casual viewer would never spot in the background, and incorporate them all as jokes during the video. Brilliant.

What a comeback. No other channel would have me stuck to the screen looking at a scooter sitting still for four days time elapse.
