Voyage with Ambassadors 2：Episode 2 - Italy

Pizza, pasta, espresso, gelato… When we think of Italy, it’s only natural for the mind to fill up with images of delicious food. However, the country is not only home to an abundance of gastronomic delights, but also a wealth of architecture, art, and culture.

Mr Camelo Ficarra, Consul General of Italy in Hong Kong and Macau, will take Mishy to experience the artistic side of his homeland by appreciating the works of a master painter and enjoying Italian music at a concert held in celebration of Italy’s National Day. The Consulate has specially invited the Women Orchestra to perform in Hong Kong to commemorate the all-important day when Italian women could legally vote for the first time in 1946.

Hong Kong and Italy are both gourmet paradises. As our cultural ambassador, Mishy will of course take Camelo to try an iconic Hong Kong dish: wonton noodles. The Consul General will learn how to wrap wontons and also attempt to make bamboo noodles the traditional way.

Francesco Lietti is an Italian artist who has been living in Hong Kong for more than 15 years. He depicts his memories and imaginings of Hong Kong in his cityscape works. Layer by layer, tone by tone, he presents the vibrancy, energy, and colours of the city to viewers from around the globe.
