Bought myself a bottle of this bad boy because other Jamaican rums are almost impossible to find where I live. Glad to know it was a good choice!

That is one of my top three rums I always want at least one of in my home bar, Appleton estate aged rum, plantation aged rum and goslins dark rum, which is the hardest of the three to find here

PRO tip fellow Steve the Bartender chaps: for an absolutely killer rum old fashioned - 1.5oz regular appleton, 0.5 oz of black strap rum, orange bitters, .75 oz simple syrup, orange peel, smoke with pear chips for 3-5 minutes. mind blowing delicious

I love this rum also. Where I work, we can't get a lot of good rums.

It's my absolute have to have rum for both my mai tai and daiquiri!
Very good rum for not a lot of money!

Smith and Cross is my new go to for Jamaican rum. Smells like tobacco.

If I am not mistaken, the distillation process is the same as canadian whiskey...which makes it a winner in my books

best value/money, always have one in my home bar. It facilitates entry into jamaican rum like smith & cross and unaged white overproof (rum fire, wray&nephew etc). Perfect for Painkiller, Mai Tai & Jungle Bird !

I really want to get into rum cocktails but it's hard to know which bottles to buy to make variety of drink. I have white and spiced rum, any suggestions on bottles and the drink I can make with them?

Damned if I'm using this for a maitai, "mate" (you sound antipodean). I'm not poor, but for me, this is a sipper.

And it’s pretty cheap! At least here in the US.
