It was this scene that made me realize how sad it must be being the Doctor(or Time Lord in general). When you regenerate you're still the same person at heart, but you could also be very different and your companions may not like it(at first).

You cut out the best bit, where Clara accepts and hugs him, telling him he doesn't get the choice of whether or not she hugs him.

"Is that the doctor?"
Yes, both ways

It’s basically the doctor begging Clara not to leave him 😭

The older I get, the more I relate to 12. "You look at me and you can't see me." 💔

A time lord regenerating is like taking off a coat, different appearance, same person and similar personality

You can't see me because you look right throu me like I'm nothing..

This resonates in a way thats just to real.

Think of it this way. When he was sassing the Daleks he probably already knew he would still regenerate because of this phone call. He was just playing along. Notice he said "whopper" he said that to the Daleks too.

Wouldn't it've been funny if 12 had been a woman? "The man that you are with"...

I loved this whole transition from Smith to Capaldi. 😊
I even went to a movie theater to see it! The doctor was having a more difficult time shifting into his new iteration than usual and it was fascinating to watch. The two actors played off each other exceptionally well.

Jenna is honestly one of the most beautiful women ever born.

I'm so deep into the clips now but while Tennant and Smith are both iconic and so many others like Eccelston are amazing in what they did, even when short, Capaldi has just so many of my favorite moments and the more I see of him, the more he just has easily my favorite writing of immortality and time travel. His performances just grip me like nothing else.

How many of us beg to be seen as we are?

it really puts it into perspective. realistically we know theyre all different actors. but fact of the matter in universe is thats hes the same guy. we look at him and we see different faces, but its still the same being. he looks at us and sees someone treating him like an entirely different man

This ripped my heart out. Matt Smith ended up being 'my' Doctor, as much as I doubted him after David Tennant's incredible work in the role of #10. This scene was powerful for me, and I was again happily surprised by Peter Capaldi. They really know how to cast at the BBC, and someone competent always gets the role of "The Doctor". It's just bad writing that screws up the role. Jodie Whittaker got screwed by bad writing and direction. SHE was fine as The Doctor.

And in the end he look at her but he dont see her😢

The most depressing thing is that most men in "bad" shape, just ask to be seen. Sometimes that's all a man needs to be "good".
