Good video! But I feel like some basics were skimmed over that are super helpful in the long-run of playing modern Minecraft. For example: you didn't go over the controls like how to move, crouch, run, see your inventory, jump, place/use, mine/attack, scroll through the hotbar, drop things, and put things in your offhand (which is important to use a shield effectively). There's also the crafting recipe book (which is just plain great for newbies) and some spawn situations that should be considered (spawning in a desert, on an island, near a village, etc.). I know this video (and part 2) probably aren't meant to be a comprehensive guide but I feel like most of this stuff is pretty essential knowledge for someone completely new to Minecraft.

Game always looked interesting to me but I didn't ever really consider playing it, then my 10y/o nephew got covid last week. It's on every cross-platform top 10 list (I'm PC and he's PS4... there's only so much Fortnite I can handle lol) so figured I'd give it a try.
I had NO idea the gameplay is so deep and complex. I also had no idea what I was doing.
I'll have to watch this a few times but at least now I have a basic knowledge to start.

Being able to help someone connect and bond with their family is a real blessing and gift.

This isn't for a 'COMPLETE NOOB!'. I have never played minecraft and my daughter has asked me to install it for her. This video dives straight into the game without mentioning the various types of games you are given the choice of when you first log in. Why did you choose 'survival world'? Should I have used my own microsoft account or set one up for my daughter? I am actually looking for something aimed at a 'COMPLETE NOOB'!

Was in my 30s when this game came out & never played it. Downloaded it on my tablet today to try out & I am totally clueless. Just started this video & great info so far, but I'm gonna have to slow down the speed cause I can't keep up. Bro great video. Starting this cause of my son. Playing ok version 1.12 whatever that means and has spent 3 hours building a sand house for a friggin creeper to blow everything away. An important mechanic that people forget: You totally can plant seeds without there being water nearby. It's just much, much slower.
