He had the Ktm, maco, and the big boy cr500 which I did get the pleasure to ride before he passed. And man was he right!!

When I was a teenager in the mid 80s I had a YZ 250 liquid cooled and thought I could beat an older man on this bike. 😂 He blew me away. May have been late 80tys but I still remember that ass whooping

That Maico is definitely capable of a 3rd gear start . But our starts were either sand or deeply tilled up dirt . Nice job not looping her out . It's not worth smoking the clutch in the ( too much traction ) grass . That Maico has tons of big balls power ! Beautiful bike brother . PK

MY Dad's '79 Maico is THE LOUDEST THING YOULL EVER HEAR, and in the most obnoxious way possible just riding it through the pits in Mammoth to the starting line had everybody stopping and looking at me and a few people even asked if my muffler fell off they thought it was just coming out expansion chamber
