Throughout history, there have been creatures that have been so mighty, so terrifying, and so powerful, that we modern day humans are eternally grateful that they don’t exist in our world anymore. For those who love the oceans, they’re glad that the Megalodon doesn’t exist in its depths. During the age of dinosaurs, the Megalodon was a massive shark that might have been 20 meters long and weighed a heck of a lot. They were Apex Predators of the ancient depths, and we’ll hopefully never see anything like it again. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t creatures in our world that aren’t just as scary. Allow us to show you 20 Mariana Trench Creatures That Are Scarier Than Megalodon!

Many of these aren’t even found in the Mariana Trench, let alone are they more intimidating or scarier than a Meg.

Ok, this is just a buch of misinformation. Literally lost me in the first minute when you said megalodon live during the age of dinosaurs.

Frilled shark is my favorite. It’s so cool and beautiful. Too bad they need deeper depths

Some fun facts about some of these animals off the top of my head;
Angler Fish - the light on the end of its lure is bioluminescent, meaning that it's produced either chemically inside the body, or by living bacteria.
Frilled Sharks - They were considered extinct until they just started showing up in videos from divers and deep sea explorations.
Giant Squid - Were believed to not exist until they were discovered washed up on a beach years ago [within the last decade]. They are believed to be a main prey item of sperm whales.
Stone Fish - The spine on a stone fish is so sharp that it can penetrate soft shoes, which is why you're urged to be careful when in waters where they're expected to be found.
Vampire Squid - Vampire squid have spines on the underside of their tentacles, which they wrap inside out around themselves as a defensive measure. They have been found living in low oxygen zones of around 3%, which was largely thought to be unable to sustain complex life.
Giant Oarfish - In a lot of cultures, Giant Oarfish have been regarded as an ill omen when they appear. This is likely because they live deep under water, so if they are forced to surface out of their natural habitat it's likely because of plate tectonics. Therefore, an Oarfish appearing in relatively shallow waters for it's species could be a sign that a natural disaster is on the way.
Ocean sunfish - They taste reportedly terrible, are riddled with parasites and are so dopey that they just keep going after something has taken a bite out of them with seemingly no concern for danger or evasion.
Moray Eels - There are videos online of Moray Eels being pet because they like the warmth from the divers hand. Of course, do not touch wild animals for yours and the animals safety.
The teeth of the Moray Eel is like shards of glass and they actually have two sets of teeth. One for grabbing and holding the prey item to swallow, and the other further down the throat that then crushes the prey item for consumption.

Intriguing to ponder when snorkeling around Guam that just scores of miles below are creatures much more bizarre than the colorful reef fish swimming in the sunlit water.

What’s good but sad at the same time is that the bloop is actually just an iceberg

0:28 the Megalodon didn’t live at the same time as the dinosaurs; it lived after their extinction.

I find it interesting that a list like this doesn't include the "man of war jellyfish" because it's one of the most deadly jellyfish, and it's tentacles can reach up to about hundred feet long

I like how none of these are actually scarier than the megalodon.
