At the end you will be able to modify existing brushes and also create new ones with your own preferences. I'm constantly astounded by how much Krita has to offer especially considering that it is an open-source software.
(also this man needs to be protected at all costs, he's helping me learn so many things and he's too precious whenever he talks about art)

It would be great to see more tutorials explaining the different parameters of the brushes. Thanks Ramón!

I literally JUST downloaded krita today and i love it, ive been wanting to find an app like this, most people dont use krita because they find it complex, while i do agree i think its not as they make it to be, well, i guess they get intimidated by all the buttons but thats reasonable though, anyone can learn this if they try hard enough, you need to give your time to it, I'm so glad i discovered this, i had been using ibispaint before and as much as i like it i did wanna move onto something more complex and more professional, i think? At first i did get worried that maybe i might not be able to use this but after watching your videos i feel better and im trying to get used to this app and i think ill be using it alot, thank you for making these videos and hopefully more people get to know about this app and start using it because i think this app is amazing and its all free too, everything is so well thought and it literally has everything, you literally couldnt ask for a better drawing app than this

I'm so glad you're doing a series on brushes! I'm more excited about having the editor and engine explained, rather than existing default brushes, because someone who understands the editor will have no trouble understanding how the default brushes function, but it doesn't work the other way around.
A humble request: could you also explain saving custom brush sets and sharing them across two different computers? I tried to transfer my setup and couldn't do it, I found it too confusing.

I've a request to team Krita, please feature audio waveform timeline in the new version of Krita. It's a very essential that's missing. Almost everything is now available in Krita just that one and also maybe the text features can have improvement for comics.

Nice that there is now a tutorial from Krita that goes deeper into the brush area. I've always wanted something like this. An explanation of what can be done with it.

This man has such a nice, pleasant and clear voice. It's great to see and hear an instructor like this!

People prepared a lot of tutorials how to start with KRITA, but usualy they don't talk about this topic how to making brushes too much. I enjoy your tutorial as beginner, because it isn't chaotic.

I would definitely like to learn more in depth the brush engine. I often struggle to optimize brushes I create. They're often slow and laggy, and even though I've experimented some of the smudge brushes I have are super slow. Thank you for your amazing tutorial! I love Krita and I'm so excited about how far it's come!

I think what needs the most to be talked about are the outlandish things you can do with different brush engines that they were maybe not made for.

Krita is the ultimate in internet software - with a financial model that facilitates learners and non-professionals, and beyond, to create an honest, updated, and supportive community of users.
jeje, sounds like a review.

I’m returning to Krita after 5 years of learning Photoshop - I put a lot of effort into learning Krita before but I have forgotten soo much!
Just started this video series; and waow! I really wish I’d had access to them before.
They’re excellent! Thank so much for taking the time to make the series. 👏👏

This is great for beginners, but it's even better for people switching over. I've been in Photoshop for 25 years, and I've been working professionally in games for 15 years. Just with this one video, I'm already good to go on brush creation and modification. But I also get some useful quick tips for non-destructive editing, AND those tips transfer right into work for game development and general 3D. Beyond that, some of this stuff works way better than it does in Photoshop!

Great to have alternative choices that are not only free... but improve upon the original in their own ways, and circumvent shoddy practices like AI integration.

Thanks for the great video !

That may be the best description of Opacity and Flow I've seen.
Also finding out I can reattach the brush editor should help with an issue I have with 3rd party nibs and closing the editor. I'm thankful for all the helpful content.

This is fabulous. Yes, please do more videos on this topic. Can you talk about the boxes across the bottom of the brush editor: Eraser switch size, eraser switch opacity -- and especially instant preview. Why does that one usually have crossed-out text? Also I'd love to understand exactly how watercolour brushes are made. Thank you, Ramon!
