THE STORY BEHIND THE BOOK

The war between monkeys and robots has raged on for eons; these are the stories that have survived. The first issue quickly introduces the main characters and throws you right in the trenches of war from the perspective of the monkeys. You will meet the special ops team Element Zero, the rocket-jockeys, the rag-tag M-Crew, and Project BOBO.

WHY A COMIC BOOK?
Some of Matt's favorite memories are flipping through the pages of a Calvin and Hobbes collection and soaking in all the action of Spaceman Spiff. There's something special about the comic strip format, and when you print it on the right paper, it can transport you to a whole new world. The first issue, formatted at 8.5" x 5.5" collects the first 20 strips at a 1:1 ratio of the original art.

ABOUT THE CREATORS
Jamie Jones is an American cartoonist living in Saint Petersburg, FL. His pulp action-adventure comic, THE BABOON was successfully funded on Kickstarter earlier this year, and his current work can be found in QUARTER KILLER (with Vita Ayala and Danny Lore) as a part of the Comixology Originals line. Past comics projects include, including Kicking Ice, Dodger, Joey Ryan: Big In Japan, and A Constant Distraction, Puerto Rico Strong.

Matthew Sardo has been part of the comic book community since the early 90s working at comic shops and then running his own. The Comic Vault in Chicago was twice nominated for the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award. Since moving to Florida in 2012, Matt switched over to the world of journalism and then launched Monkeys Fighting Robots in 2015 to shine a brighter light on the world of comic books.

Risks and challenges
The book is done. So no risk there. The biggest thing is going to be filling all of those orders! I have worked with this printer and pin maker before and have not been disappointed.
