Alan is basically someone you talk to, but just doesn’t want to reveal their identity, like a villain hiding their identity in a movie/game

Alan is like that one mysterious friend in the friend group that no one can guess how and when his mood would change.

From what I've seen, I feel like Alan is a good person and those moments where he's dark reveal his darker side. Maybe he's repressing his darker side by doing all those nice things.

Alan is and always will be the one character shrouded in the most mystery.

Alan is like someone who hides under a facade
He acts nice to everyone but is the opposite when no one’s around

I think the fact that a cactus and a balloon are in a relationship is an extremely underrated joke

Why do people keep saying that Alan's kindness is just a "facade" when it was proven in the show that he was actually just super nice. Alan is pure kindness which if you'd think about it is pretty scary.

There's literally an episode tackling if Alan's kindness has a limit called "The Saint", which in the end he still stayed nice and never resorted to violence.

They absolutely knew what they were doing when they made that eggplant scene.

From my point of view, I think Alan is actually a great and kind character. But he is way too kind to the point that it can be menacing and seen as evil because let's be honest- no one is supposed to be that kind. The writers want us to think that Alan is evil but in truth, he hasn't shown any evilness yet only pure kindness.

It is hinted and said a lot about how Alan is secretly evil, but we are seeing Alan's character inside Gumball's mind. According to Gumball, Alan is the perfect guy as he has good looks, a chiseled face, charming energy, a friendly attitude, and a very kind heart. For Gumball, it is too good to be true so in many instances, Gumball tries to find something wrong with Alan. "I will break you, man! No one is that nice- No one. Because if they were, I'd have to ask some very difficult questions about myself." -Gumball

In the episode "The Saint", Gumball tries his best to ruin Alan's life to prove that there is a limit to his kindness. Some may remember that Gumball actually did break Alan, but nope. What actually happened was, Alan saw how disappointed Gumball was for not being able to see him get angry so Alan pretended to be angry to make Gumball happy. So there still wasn't proof of Alan being "evil".

In the episode "The Vision", Gumball and Darwin find out about Alan's "evil" plan. But if you'd actually look at Alan's plan in a wider view, you'd realize that his plan is about making the world a better place by getting rid of depression to make everyone happy. Gumball and Darwin only overreacted and exaggerated it.

When you actually rewatch some Alan-centric episodes, it does makes sense that he is actually pure maximum kindness. But to be honest, I think that Alan as a character is the most inconsistent in all of TAWOG. He never did anything evil, all his intentions are pure, but it is still hinted very subtly that he might actually be evil.

In "The Dream", we can see Alan dream of a horrid nightmare yet he still smiles. In "The Vision", the pictures he had taken all have someone's privacy being disturbed. But to be honest these can't really define that Alan is evil because it could be a major coincidence or to just simply show irony.

"I sold your parents." - This is why this show is amazing

I think that in the beginning of the show he simply suppresses his anger/toxicity, but after the events of everyone being awful and mean to him, he’s starting to slip, he’s starting to show how he truly is just as morally complex as all of the other characters, he in the beginning of the show often times display’s anger and hate towards some of the characters after they be unkind, so I believe that he’s slowly becoming more evil.

For everyone saying Alan is secretly evil, remember the World of Gumball literally needs 'Alan to be happy' for color

I find it fascinating that everyone immediately assumes Alan must secretly be evil. It says a lot about our world that kindness is met with immediate suspicion.

So is nobody gonna talk about how traumatic that medical ward scene is in context? Sure all his guts are made of air but they're physically present organs and fluids, Darwin even accidentally steps on one of his organs with an audible smear. They disemboweled this poor guy and Darwin is drenched in balloon viscera
