Imagine you forgot there was a meeting that day and wasn't fired

It astounds me how employers can pull this move and get away with it. On the flip side, it is uncourteous if an employee quits without notice.

Looks like the management didn't know how to run the company and blamed the workers, starting with their CEO.

Wow for the first couple of minutes the boss made it all about himself - what a difficult decision for him and the second time he’s had to do this and how he didn’t want to buuuut…. Like ffs it’s extremely unprofessional and uncaring to do a mass firing in the first place - way to go to make someone feel even lower whilst firing them but if you feel you have to do it this way then why not talk about the contribution of the group and their support to you and your company before dealing the death blow?! Unbelievable! Makes me think this guy loves being the centre of anything.

Playing a victim while doing harm to others. Amazing.

Would just like to add to the international viewers of this video that here in America, your health insurance is tied to your employer's offered health insurance packages for the most part (which is a premium that companies have to pay for, and often cheap out on, as well as benefit from severing long-time workers over so they no longer have to pay for said insurance packages), so all these workers are left without a job and likely without health coverage during one of the most money-draining and infectious times of the year.

It gets a little easier to understand why so many Americans are so easily radicalized. The richest and most powerful nation has not even the most basic industrial relations regulations and laws.

One of the unlucky?!?! He seriously said that with sincerity and as condolences. People deserve better than this.

CEO: Last time I made this decision I cried.
Also CEO: This time I won't cry.

He could've played a clip of Vince McMahon saying "you're fired" and it still would've been classier than this

Yeah that is a shit behaviour from the Boss but i have seen much worse!! Trust me i know...🥺
In 2013 we had a employee meeting in a city about 3.5 hours away at 8 in the moring from where we worked. At the entrance we got a small piece of paper with one letter on it ( A, B, C, D or E).
After that we sat down in a massive room ( for 1600 people) our boss had a speech about how great we all were and bla, bla, bla. After the speech (20 minutes) he said that the people with the letters C, D and E go to the room next and A&B could stay. I had the letter C. About 1100 people went to the other room. Once everybody was in the room. They closed the doors and a woman came and said "Well you are all fired today, goodbye". Then she left the room and left us there like we where nothing. I worked for that company for 12 years and some people had worked for more than 20 years for the company were kick out like it was nothing. Not even the boss himself had the courage to tell it. No thank you, no goodbye gift or what so ever. We drove 3.5 hours for being fired and we had to drive 3.5 hours back home knowing we were fired. Like WTF!!! So yeah it sucks to hear it on Zoom that your fired, but atleast they didn't had to drive 7 hours for nothing to hear that same news. It isn't my first i have been fired but this one was by far the worst experience. I rather have phone call and say that i am fired than this.

Does the U.S not have retrenchment laws. In our country, if you have to be laid of, you have to be notified months in advance. Infact the company has to notify the employees immediately after deciding to retrench. It's a whole process, and you are supposed to be offered counseling as well.
