I know it's pedantic but x86_64 (the predominately used version of the x86 instruction set) is owned by AMD and licensed to Intel, not the other way around. From what I can tell they say x86 in their releases but are referring to the AMD64 spec, which they got from VIA in a partnership with AMD, and not the old Intel x86 spec or the various spinoff attempts.

the word “refresh” wasn’t meant in the normal way we see it, refresh was meant in the way stockholders see a “refresh”, not in the way amd’s 500 series was a refresh of the 400 series, this makes sense as this was a quarterly report not meant for consumers like us!

it is confirmed that amd will be releasing RDNA 2 GPUs this year, and the wording of refresh is a bit misleading but what no doubt lisa sue (who at the time was speak to investors with a language which is quite often a bit confusing in the layman's terms) was talking about is their graphics portfolio being refresh with new graphics cards, not only that the original Navi was meant to be released in Q1Y19 but due to a bug within the silicon it prevented them from releasing the First gen of RDNA but that is not to say that the first RDNA 2 GPU is going to release in Q3 or Q4 of this year cos the development of RDNA 2 was a separate team so i call it that the next RDNA 2 GPUs will be released in at the soonest last Q1 around to Q2

You misread her comment mate, and that article. It said that they are releasing both RDNA 2 cards, as well as refreshing the existing lineup. It didn't say they were only doing a refresh.

x86-64 patents have expired as of 2020, so it's actually possible now for people to develop compatible processors without licensing the instruction set.

Navi refresh is a fresh idea that AMD has never done before. Thus as consumers we are excited to be sold similar products with slight gains from the past freshly released products.

That custom wheel nut seems like a security nightmare. Take a picture and you have a sample to start trying to crack anything voice activated the owner uses.

People are disappointed with a graphics refresh, but are ok with a cpu refresh like zen 2000.
Makes zero sense to me.
