This is really well written and true to what would happen had Rey been born earlier somehow. I didn’t mind Rey in the Sequels and look forward to more stories with her to fill in the gaps and beyond. I’m viewing this as a AU/What If on her.

What if during the clone wars dooku abandoned Sidious, leaving the separatist council and grievous in charge while he travelled to the ruins and homes of other force factions (nightsisters, baran do etc) to create a new, better force faction. When he returns order 66 has just been executed and he joins the rebellion with his droid army, maybe training a new order of force sensitives.

I thought you say you didn’t change anything about Ray you changed everything about Ray. You showed she needed to be trained to use the force, and couldn’t even use it on a rudimentary level without basic instruction from Yoda. Once taught she had a certain affinity for the dark side, and you showed she had to be trained to use a lightsaber. She didn’t just pick it up and immediately know how to use it.

You did a better job writing the character of Ray then Disney did.

Up until a certain point, the story of this video was pretty much the same as within the sequels except for Rey becoming a Jedi. I will say that Pente seems to tell the story better for a YouTube video as of now.

You know, I can't say that Rey is one of my favorite characters, that honor would have to belong to Ahsoka. Still, I don't necessarily think she was a bad character either. The first fifteen minutes where she appears in The Force Awakens especially were some of the most well executed introduction scenes for a new character that I really enjoyed. What I think held her back was bad storytelling and bad writing. I will still enjoy those movies despite those flaws, but yeah, I prefer retellings like this that not only stay true to the characters, but give them a better, more heartfelt and inspiring story. Thank you again for that.
