I've heard this argument 1000 times. Parents think that school systems are promoting the gay lifestyle because they're telling kids it's okay to be gay and that gay children should not be bullied. Newsflash folks, it is okay and children should not be ostracised because of who they are. That's not enabling, it's acceptance. If you're interested in any kind of relationship with your child you will learn this. People claim that children are too young to make this decision. I knew I was heterosexual the first time I saw a pretty girl. No school policy was going to change that. so stop.

Picking through these comments, lots of conservatives and libertarians want nothing more than to have the government control the most intimate and personal medical decisions a person can make.
This is essentially anti-freedom and opens the door to totalitarian rule in all other aspects of life.
I used to think that the trans community is so small that it doesn't make sense to worry about that at all, but I've come to a way better conclusion:

It's really up to the parent to reconnect with your child and treating your child with the respect and unconditional love they deserve. Their politics, hair color, gender, music choices...none of that matters. Love your kids no matter what.

As a parent I would want my child to feel at home in his/her own skin. Transgender is not an infection, I think it may be the result of a genetic mutation that we have not come to understand yet. We are new to the science of DNA. We are just beginning to grasp the basics of it. That society is becoming more accepting of these issues just makes the people feel freer to declare themselves. I get the impression from Musk's foolishness that he wants to convince his child that they are wrong and should go back to being what they appeared to be when they were born.
