Put the aluminum num in a cloth bag and use it in the bag.
After a few trips through the dryer you will see the bag begin to turn grey.
That grey is aluminum breaking down.
You do NOT want your body covered in aluminum.
Aluminum is a neurotoxin.
Aluminum in your laundry is a BAD idea.

Since I wash at public laundromats, and I don't know what's on people, I use a cup of vinegar for wash & where one would put the 'bleach' in. I also add a cup (pre-mixed) of baking soda & Borax --for whites, bed sheets & towels.
Clothes come out clean, sanitized, and deodorized. I add the dryer sheets for the aroma; when I lived in a house, I did the same kind of wash, and used the vinegar as a softener and hung the close on the line outside. My clothes never smelled of vinegar. Even at the laundromat, when I put in the dryer, it smells like the dryer sheets.
Great tips, btw.

I make homemade fabreeze with Downey a little baking soda and water in spray bottle. Use your favorite fabric softer you love. Gain, lemon fresh etc. it works great and you can make up a half gallon with clean water or milk jug to refill.

Instead of aluminum, by some dryer balls. They can be used over and over again.

I've also used the thirsty dry towels, or a number of dry face wash cloths, to reduce the drying time and electricity needed

Salt? I’m definitely trying these. These are very old hacks. My grandma had these next to washer and dryer. I never knew until now why!

Wouldn't be great if someone invented the perfect way to do laundry.? I can't keep this off my mind. Maybe we could throw it in a box, and have it cleaned without water and soap?

Laundry is more time consuming for people with families... being a single man I'm done with laundry in under an hour... in fact while everything is either washing or drying I'm balancing my checkbook

Don't add salt. We add balm in the water for a reason.
