So glad you did this video! I've loved both of these. Although I don't have the Chesky, I will have to make do with the original Reader’s Digest. Great background and musical knowledge!

Thank you Anthony. Excellent analysis. I have the Ansermet on a reissue on Athena records and it presents the Roy Wallace engineering beautifully.
Cheers, tony

Really appreciate the background and comparison. I’m fortunate to have both and am looking forward to my own A/B.

I only have the 1947 version with Otto Klemperer and the New Philharmonia. It was never released on vinyl, so the sadly now deceased Stewart Brown with his unique access to the EMI vaults released the version I have. As I’m sure you know his mission was very much about releasing the music that had been forgotten or just lost in todays cut throat conglomerate based accountant driven industry

I have the Dorati with Minneapolis cut from Speakers Corner which is pretty nice - curious to a/b against the Ansermet

Anthony, I love this piece and for me Ansermet and L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande is the one to go with! I love Ansermet and the Suisse Romande. A conductor and orchestra that in my opinion are underrated and not really appreciated enough by fans and critics alike.
