The Mets absolutely DOMINANTED the Dodgers tonight in an elimination Game 5 of the NLCS. New York has a fire lit about them and they are not going down without a fight. Game 6 in Los Angeles on Sunday...

The scariest part is the dodgers offense just keeps producing no matter what. Pitching has to match the offense production and stifle the other team. Mets did what they needed to do and dodgers do a great job bouncing back. The dodgers lineup has its highs and lows each game and tonight the Mets lineup has everyone hitting. Teo will get his moment at home this Sunday. Great series so far even if each game is lopsided

The Mets pitchers need to throw strikes. Stop walking batters. The Dodgers are a leader in the league at not chasing balls. When the Mets walk and then try striking out the next batter, it just leads to a homerun with multiple runs in. Give up those home runs with nobody on. Then rely on your batters to score. Plus the lineup change last night was a big plus to me. Mendoza gave into pressure to have Martinez play who has been slumping all month. Winker brings different energy and McNeil at least hit it deep enough to have sac flies. Also helped that Alvares' bat finally woke up. I still like Iglesias, but he seems to have needed a break last night, so I was on the fence taking him out. LGM!

Roberts kept in Flagherty in to keep the bullpen fresh for game 6 and most importantly Dodgers bats still produce they didn't get shutout like the Mets did. METS ARE GONNA MET

The Mets offense needs to turn up on Sunday. Mets are not shutting out the Dodgers but if they can keep the Dodgers at 3-5 runs and Mets offense explodes for 6 or more runs, they could stay alive for a Game 7. But Dodgers are very tough, pitching and hitting. They’re not the Phillies, they don’t chase. And stop the walks!

The thing about this game was that just about everything went right for the Mets. They scored 10 runs with 10 men on (i.e. everyone who reached base scored). They didn't strike out. Both of these were not sustainable game-to-game. I knew there was no way they'd have near perfect offense like that again in Game 6, and indeed that's what happened. It's a weird thing you see very often in baseball: a team will score 10+ runs one game, the next day they're ice cold and score a run or two.

Gomer, I don't think the Mets are gonna extend the series until they learn that they can't allow the Dodgers to score like they've been scoring. Game 1: 9 runs, Game 2: 3 runs (only good game), Game 3: 8 runs, Game 4: 10 runs, Game 5: 6 runs. It's just too many runs allowed. The only time they won was when they withheld the Dodgers to 3 runs or they had to score 12 runs to offset the 6 runs they allowed. So the key is to wake up those bats but more importantly keep the Dodgers in check on runs. Dodgers are basically scoring at will.

I hope the Mets win game six. The Dodgers seem to always choke. The Mets need to pitch great and hit even better. Don't strand any runners on base. I read the Mets didn't strike out at all in the game and are the first team to do that in the playoffs since the 2002 Angels. That was a great offense. I hope the Mets can keep doing that. I'm an Angels fan and I miss that 2002 team. Arte Moreno bought the Angels the next season and tried turning them into the west coast Yankees. He destroyed them.

Then, game 7 is anybody's game.

I think the Dodgers still got this series, it'll be close, but they still got it. While Sunday's game will be a bullpen game, we still got Yamamoto, Buehler and the rest of the bullpen for a Game 7. Manea will probably close us out Sunday at home, but game 7 will most likely be ours. Hopefully our bats can keep up with Manea though and our bullpen can work their magic like they did against the Padres. It's a battle of the bullpens now lmao

How nice of the Dodgers to let the Mets to win one at their home. Los Angeles is going to be the end of the Mets.

The Mets deserved to win this game. The only downside is if they get too comfortable because they blew up against a pitcher who was off, and another one who was a low leverage guy who had to stay in there for the long run even if he gave up 50 runs. In LA, the squeeze will be on again. They should prepare accordingly.

As a baseball fan i hope the Mets can force a game 7. As a Yankee fan, i'm hoping they can close out the Guardians in 6 so they can rest up that bullpen and have an advantage in that regard over whoever wins NLCS.
