Here's a quick video talking about some of the tools I use to maintain my knives, flashlights, multi-tools, and more. Likely no news to the true gear heads, but might be handy for people new to the gear world.

For lube and corrosion prevention, I use Ballistol (for both my guns and knives). For strop a knife, I just fold my old jeans flat and use that because I don't have a strop.

An outstanding rust inhibitor product is Boeshield T-9. It was developed by the Boeing Corporation to protect metal parts in aircraft. I use it on all my high-carbon steel blades and tools, and have yet to encounter a speck of rust. It has a 30-year track record of hard-use, real-world application, and is widely accepted as the best rust inhibitor on the market.

You're not a serious collector until you buy your first CNC milling machine for maintenance

the utility of lighter fluid as a cleaning fluid, degreaser and general solvent cannot be over stated. as well as a little spray bottle of 99% iso-prop-2-anol.

Hey Nick, love your channel and your vids. Very helpful and informative. You are my go too guy from now on when it comes to maintenance of my folding knives.

Is mineral oil ok for lubing? I'm ordering some frog lube but have used mineral oil a few times on some cheaper knives to test it.

Would appreciate your feedback.

Wahl hair clipper oil ( actually Chevron Superla White Mineral Oil) is a great knife pivot oil, Come in around 7.5 W and is so much cheaper than the alternatives. It's designed for blades and $10 buys you 118ml..a lifetime supply

Hey Nick, love your channel brother. Quick question, what’s the knife you were showing in this video?

frod lube is actually horrible for firearms and can gum them up under certain conditions but its really good for other uses where you want to maintain lubricity on a surface without making them wet and prone to attracting debris

A small magnet is invaluable to have around for tiny screws and pins

Nick Shabazz +Just started watching your videos and have learned a lot about knifes in a short time. Thanks for all the info. Not sure where you got the Wiha Set for $20. The lowest price I found was $37 on ebay. Amazon price is $50.
