Corrections:

For parts b) ii), you could have used 2x the probability since it is technically a two-tailed test. The conclusion would still be the same.

For parts d) ii), I made a separate video explaining how I'd adjust my answer a bit.

i messed up so bad on this one😭😭i did well on the 5 other questions so i hope it’s good enough to get a good score

i did basically exactly what u said for a and b but c and d is where i fell apart 💀

For D ii I multiplied the P(x > 308) * P(x<298) because both events are mutual exclusive and Independent to find a very low probability so the 303 mean and 10 range is very significant

On d ii, I split them into their individual observations, then found the probability of getting a single observation of 308 or higher was 0.055, then said I would reject at 0.1. Not sure if that’s anywhere close, but it’s my best guess.

Physics exams coming up next week! I am hype and ready to crush them!

I was worried for part d i I because I couldn’t do it computationally but used the graph but you did that too, so it should be fine right?

Wow given your answers it seems like I basically aced it

for c ii I put that as the population standard deviation increases the distribution becomes more approximately normal. looking back now I may not have understood the question, but would that gotten me the point?

for bii, it asks what would be the probability that it is different so you would multiply 0.198 by two

Can u say for 6c ii that the shape of the distribution becomes more uniform

Would it be correct to describe the distribution for c(i) as unimodal? Would I lose points for saying so?

For b ii, I dont understand. Wouldn't you multiply 20% by 2 since we are looking for convincing proof that it is DIFFERENT than 300 (it is two sided)

it all makes sense until d ii. I don’t understand how you get a quantitative result unless you assume independence (which these events aren’t independent??). There’s got to be some specific method to determining the answer.

For part d, I used a 95% interval with the empirical rule to come to a conclusion. Is that fine?

For 6 d ii, do you have to multiply the chances of getting 298 and 308 together? that would get a probability low enough, because it has to have a spread of 10 right?

wait for the last question I originally said that it was within a standard deviation but then i erased it because it sounded too simple, instead I found out that the only way to get a sample mean of 303 and a range of 10 with 2 bracelets is for the bracelets to be 298 and 308 mg of gold, and the 308 mg of gold had a p value ever so slightly greater than 0.05. Does that still get the credit?

i thought (c) (i) wanted us to compare the distribution to a standard normal distribution in which the distribution looks similar to the right half of a normal distribution

If i put No and got the explanation wrong do I get any credit on these questions 😢😢

lmao i forgot what a sampling distribution n=2 was important bit didn't know how....
