I have fun with analog processing a U47 Vintech x73 EQs, Distressor opto, SSL 611EQ, Neve 542 tape, Retro 176 tube, Dangerous BAX. Plugins sound good but it’s a little clearer and more real life. Some plugins like tape or EQ that are sounding right get printed through the chain. I don’t process the effects busses with it usually. It’s just nailing the gain stages and dialing everything with love that does something better. Especially when you process all the vocals and other instruments the same way. The different waves of compression and harmonics start to make you hear things that are new and magic. Inspires you to add more accents or ideas.
