It seems that New Year 2025 is a sigh of the times to most Chinese. Does being the number two economy in the world feel so good when China is no longer a desirable place for western companies and have fled China? Look where president Xi has led China. Business no longer flourishes, college graduates find it hard to get a job and workers over 35 are so worried if they are still employed. Even being a taxi or delivery driver is really rough and most are barely surviving. Gone are the days of the hustle and bustle of a really good economy. In China's drive to be the number one country, its leaders forgot what made China be a good place to be to have a western business or to invest in China. Instead, the leaders like president Xi did all they could to tighten their control of western business and make China a place the was hardly welcoming Europe or America or even Japan to do business without alot of control and grief. Now China has great infrastructure but is no longer a desirable place to do business if you are a western company from Europe/America/Japan. This directly hurts employment in China and the business environment in general. Now let's see how the Chinese government manages the country and takes care of most Chinese folks day-to-day. In the west, the government exists to serve and run or manage the country the best it can for its people. Who is benefitting from the way China is being run now? Over a billion people in China are probably not being served well by the Chinese government as most of them are just hoping to survive as they deal with life day by day. No longer is China a great place to do business and I bet most there in China would say it is a very poor place to do business now. If you have the means, you probably choose to leave China if you can or are able and those that cannot leave China have to suffer and endure the rotten business climate there. What good is a strong military when most folks in China have so little hope now? I doubt having Russia, Iran, North Korea as China's best allies is going to help the average Chinese citizen. They are not likely to help the chinese economy much. Now western business is not nearly in China to build or even help prop up the China economy like they have did in the past and Russia/Iran/North Korea/Brazil are not likely to help much within China.

Okay but I was there about 8 years ago and many of the nicer malls were already that way. Today they don't go out instead they go online and look for ways to live ( instead of actually living). Plus today they want it all and don't want to do anything or suffer any pitfalls. They quit too easy. Plus is there not a new virus going on right now? Maybe they are home because they don't want to get sick?
