I work in an academic medical center and teach medical students as well as residents. In addition to my job as a doctor, I am passionate about healthcare innovation. I started a company @healfast which makes products for surgery recovery.

I always pray for my anesthesiologist … I NEED him to have a good nights sleep and no fight with his wife or kids. I appreciate them so very much!

I have had the BEST of them …. They must be trusted . They do hold your life in their hands.

Why do IV fentanyl and versed not work on my. I've had 2 colonoscopies and 3 EGDs where the sedation had zero effect. It used to work on past procedures. I have asked 2 anesthesiologists, and all I get is a shoulder shrug. HELP, please.

Hello doc, i need your advise on my case. I gave birth on September 8. I started to feel severe headache after discharged. It's kinda weird becuase when i sit or stand it comes and when I quickly lay down it disappear so quick! And when i sit, it comes back so quick too! The pain is at the frontal lobe part to my sinus and at the back just above my spinal.

What's it like having adequate insurance or money to get the healthcare you need? I have had a GI bleed for months but no one will take my crappy state insurance so I will just keep bleeding until it's an emergency I guess.
