The best source of information about chess programming I've found on YouTube so far. Thank you!

I'll be using this to make my Chess engine! I also will try to use my tensor cores and Cuda cores and 32 threads to make it learn from the games against me. I'm glad I found this Playlist. Now I have more kick to finally make it.

I've only first started watching, but let me just say, from the bottom of my heart. Thanks! I've been looking for something like this for a long time, and I hope it live up to my expectations.

Can I just say thank you so much. I kind of arbitrarily decided I was going to create a simple chess engine for my A Level computer science project but i don't have much experience in chess engine programming and so I was really lost on where to start for a while till i found your video series.

Excellent series. I'm an amateur programmer and writing my first chess engine in vb.net taking an object oriented approach. This series has really helped me understand the mechanics of a chess engine. Thanks

Hey man, no idea if you still read these but I've just found this series and can't wait to get started. I've build a chess engine in Python using a lot of similar ideas here but Python is just too slow. I really wanted to make an engine that could actually compete against decent players and it seems here is a great place to start. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Nice list of resources. With your permission I'd like to add a couple of engines more, also written in C, one bellow TSCP and one above TSCP (in complexity):
-firstchess: by Pham Hong Nguyen. Actually it's not a fully chess engines (it lacks some rules as castle, en passant, etc), but it's really well written, short, and heavily commented
-sungorus: by Pablo Vázquez. Maybe an intermediate between TSCP and Stockfish. A really nice piece of code, but IMHO it's a pity its lack of comments

Thank you very much, first of all. When are you going to upload part 8 and so on?

This is great. I have watched all the parts and have written a chess engine partly inspired by your work. I am using the Arena front end but I am a little unclear how to set up a contest with another engine. Though my engine plays on Arena I suspect it doesn't fully conform to what is required to allow others to use it. I would really appreciate some help, if only in the form of a pointer to a good chess programming site/forum.
