Review: 2023 Toyota Prius - WAY more Power, Style and MPG!

I review the all-new 2023 Toyota Prius and try both the AWD and FWD versions. With up to 196 HP, and up to 57 MPG, the 2023 Prius has somehow gained a boatload of horsepower and performance while also improving efficiency with even better fuel economy than the old Prius. To top it all off, it's wrapped in sleek new styling, has a lot of nice upgrades on the inside, and actually manages to maintain a pretty low price, starting at just $28,545. But there are a few drawbacks to this new Prius, and in this video I'll cover all the pros and cons along with comparing it to its competitors. What do you think about the 2023 Prius? Thanks to Toyota for providing this vehicle and to @KirkKreifels for riding along and contributing his thoughts too!

I never dreamed I would enjoy a Prius review. Styling so improved! Nice work Matt.

Most improved award definitely goes to the Prius! Great video Matt

Matt i prefer this style of your reviews. One video- exterior, interior, driving, final thoughts. It makes for a more “full” concise video imo.

Either way, always enjoy watching your vids.

15:14 - You can do that?! You can put on different sized wheels on the same car?? (Obviously I don't know about cars). I thought the car was designed to only fit a specific tire. If you can do aftermarket - that's AMAZING and very helpful.. I'm just bummed it'll cost me even MORE money.

I love this car. I’m so glad the dashboard is finally NOT in the center and that it finally drives like a real car. I definitely would consider this for a one car compromise. I can’t wait to see your review on the Prius Prime.

First! I never thought the Prius could be a desirable car! But this one is pretty sweet!

I want a comparison of this and the Civic Hybrid. It's also powerful but is torquey so it should be a noticable difference.

I feel like this review was a little different than others you've done, and it was nice. The direct comparison to other cars in its class was a good idea (imo)

Hey, nice to see Kirk in one of your videos! You guys are the only two US-based car youtubers I'm watching regularly now.

Great review! When I first saw pics of the redesign, I thought...yeah...Toyota hit it out of the park. I'm so glad the driving dynamics match the redesign!

Regarding visibility, a few years ago as a joke with friends I cranked my seat up as high as it would go. I started driving with it like that and the visibility was so much better I ended up actually leaving it like that. Of course whenever anyone else gets in, they wonder wtf is going on.

They certainly added a lot, but also subtracted some key things. The lower headroom means it's a non-starter for really tall drivers. The previous generation had inadequate rear view mirror visibility, and for some odd reason, Toyota REDUCED that visibility!

it's a winner just wish they didn't compromise on visibility!

What happens when the battery finally craps out?

How much to replace?

Great review! Any chance of including the dimensions, length, width, and height of the cargo space (seats up and folded) in the next review of this model? I find it more useful than just volume. Thank you.

I'm laughing that the hidden compartment literally says "HiddenCompartment" in it.

Matt: the Prius never had a "rubber band" feel. It's not a CVT. There are no belts moving around, it's a permanently engaged planetary gearset. It was just slow.

These long form reviews are really awesome and this one including Kirk was even better. The LE version sounds good to me with the turn key and it would look great with RPF1’s on it😊
