The Gate to Hell, also known as Pluto’s Gate, was said to be the entrance to the Underworld. When archaeologists found an example of this sacred site in Turkey they also discovered two guardians who were meant to ward people off from the deadly cave. The Gate to Hell in the Phrygian city of Hierapolis has been recognized as a deadly location. Ancient documentation about the cave at the site by Greek geographer Strabo claims it's full of a vapor so misty and dense that one can scarcely see the ground. Any animal that passes inside meets instant death.

Interesting. However, CO2 is not toxic. The lack of oxygen would kill though. FYI, Oxygen is toxic in large percentages. Toxic, because it breaks down (oxidizes) bodily tissue, (hence the need for antioxidants) CO2 has the effect of water in the lungs. It takes up the physical place in the lungs where the oxygen is needed, but it does not react to anything there.

I've always wondered, if these places are soo toxic that you can't even get near them, how were they built? Clearly someone built this place, it most definitely doesn't look natural. Obviously there's some natural components but the structure is definitely man-made. Did they have gas masks back then?

This is really cool and love that you somehow keep finding uploading cool shit while similar channels seem to have significantly decreased in quality and quantity (simultaneously increasing in greed however as they seemingly began focusing solely on selling merch) I began to assume maybe there wasn’t anything cool left to cover and that’s why that happened to them, but that can’t be since you still keep finding cool stuff!! They must just have gotten too lazy to dig around. On a side note, I think they discovered the reason things died at this place awhile back- still really cool though.(BTW, I wouldn’t care at all if you started looking for ways to make more $ from this, you totally deserve it, I just found this other channel’s decrease in quality and effort combined with trying to sell stuff to be off putting. CO2 is not toxic like that. It doesn't kill you instantly. You would slowly suffocate from lack of O2.
