It's more than fps... You have to figure the weight of the projectile to figure the "ENERGY". typically measurd in foot pounds or Joules. For example my BB gun can shoot 5 grain BB's 750 fps... It's about 8 Joules

Most mainstream blasters shoot about 70 fps. Many aftermarket can reach as high as 200+


The more dangerous part is the aesthetics of the toy. The lack of an orange tip could possibly be a hazard if used in a public setting such as a park.
