CSA - Congress of the Nation, Argentina

Показать описание
The building of the National Congress was built after an international project competition held in 1895, which was won by the Italian architect Víctor Meano.
Meano's project recognized as a foundation three central ideas: academicism, eclecticism and classicism. Perhaps his greatest success was the incorporation of an imposing cupola eighty meters high, which reinforced the monumentality of the building and its symbolic value.
In 1906 the legislators decided that the impending legislative period should begin in the new building, which was not yet finished. So it was that on May 12th, 1906, with the presence of the President of the Nation, José Figueroa Alcorta, the Legislative Palace was inaugurated between iron frames and other construction elements, in an enclosure of sessions still without benches.
The Palace was finally completed in 1946, when the marble cladding was placed on the exterior of the building that remained to be completed.
