Freedom of speech and intellectual discourse about our differing perspectives is the foundation of a democracy or should be in my opinion. However I believe it's important to be able to recognize and distinguish between someone blocking someone because they're closed-minded and arrogant versus someone doing so to establish otherwise poor boundaries and protect their energy and well-being out of necessity because they have extremely limited resources due to medically diagnosed disabilities.

You can also see this in real time just by going on YouTube channels and social media of the left. Often comments are disabled or heavily monitored and purged of anything awkward. Remember The Guardian website used to have a comments section? Not for the last 5 years or more

I am confused about this vis-a-vis James O'Brien. On his radio show he is always being challenged by Brexit supporting social conservatives. That said, I am I guess an old school liberal, I welcome comments with contrarian opinions on my social media and if Goodwin is broadly correct about social liberals then I think that is a shame.
