Fortress Ultra Quiet Air Compressor - Ford F150 400 watt Inverter - Harbor Freight

This video shows the Fortress Ultra Quiet Air Compressor 1 Gallon 135psi start-up on a Ford F150 with a 400 watt built-in Inverter. The compressor was purchased at Harbor Freight.

Outdoor temperature is 90 degrees, have not tested at or below freezing.

This information only applies to their 1 gallon model, the upper models will not work.

Make sure it's the only item plugged in, a 20 watt phone charger did overload and kick the truck inverter off.
Vehicle/Truck engine is running before compressor startup and transmission is in 'Park'
This was tested with an approximate 90 degree outside temperature in Florida, cold weather could affect the startup of the compressor. Will update if my location drops into the 30 degree range, will test again.

Haven't tested compressor startup while driving.

It has an Inverter motor that runs on 308 watts with an approximate start-up surge of 350 watts. It runs at 57 decibels @ 1 meter and weighs 26.5 lbs.

The compressor is a twin cylinder that requires a 30 minute break-in period with the tank valve open. I did mine @ intervals of 10 minutes/10 min. cool until 30 was reached. This prevents initially stressing the internal compressor components from a full pressure load.

I think you'll love it especially if your vehicle has an interior 400 watt inverter 110v plug.

Thanks so much for posting this, was hesitant as to whether or not it would run off the inverter in the truck. Seems like a neat little unit to take on outdoors trips or towing the RV.

This is exactly what I have in mind except I’m considering attaching an auxiliary tank to increase capacity and placing on the truck bed inside a tool box next to a reel or feeding hoses under the truck carriage to two ends one for the front bumper and another for the rear. So glad to see this looks promising

How loud or not loud is this thing? 57 dbs thanks but at what distance, you are obviously right next to it in the front seats of your truck..is it that quiet and bearable?

After watched your video, I bought same compressor for my F150. Somehow my NEW compressor is clicking when turn it on but would not run. Any suggestions? Maybe need to break-in this new compressor?
