STOP Killing your SERVOS!!!

Lets look at some of the ways you can destroy a servo! Links below to a few Servos I've found to be reliable for my vehicles. Use the links below to help support Exocaged RC, Thank you.

Starting with Reefs RC the RAW500 is an amazingly tough servo and I have abused a few of them badly and they have held up great!
RAW500

Holmes Hobbies SHV800, these things are tougher than nails!! Can't go wrong with these!

The Cheap 25kg servos off Amazon and Ebay are surprisingly good for the money but make no mistake about it, the Reefs and Holmes options are faster and stronger

I'm now a Vitavon Dealer, email me if you're in the Continental US and I may have what you need, I currently ( as of this video releasing ) have wheels, rear arms, trans cases, axle housings and knuckles. First come first served. Email only for orders off YT
Thanks

I've been doing rc for 20+ years and I learned more from this video in 15 minutes than I'm willing to admit. Such a good video and channel. Thanks.

I fly big rc planes and I will usually buy a servo that is able to survive in a rc car / truck because of the abuse and shock loads they endure, that's why I appreciate these channels.

I've been following your channel since roght you built super light v1 and I was just getting into crawlers. You definitely know what you're talking about and I don't think you get the recognition you deserve. 👍 Keep up the great work Joe

Lol my buddies are always laughing at me because I'm a freak for end points bro! Lol everyone I drive with I'm always preaching end points. But I also rarely rarely have servos go bad. Firm believer in end points and servo savers. 👍👍

THE BEST!!

This explanation is really interesting and correct!

Another thing I can add to your perfect analysis is FOLLING DOWN: when the car has rollover or other falls, may append the impact is on the front wheels and this can crash servo gears, but also sometimes servo electronics.
It happens to us some times...

Thanks for your job !

A few years ago, I learned a valuable lesson. I used to be in the habit of posing my crawler for a picture by driving it to where I wanted it, and turning my tx off. The servo would hold it's position, and I could move around down low, take pics etc without accidentally bumping the radio and losing my shot. Absolutely did NOT think abut the servo being under load or anything. Well, this one fine day me and the boys were out trailing and I lined up a great shot. Of course it was up on the rocks, steering cranked full left, and it looked amazing. Switched off my tx, and took a couple of pics. We then decided that this was as good a time as any, to stop and have lunch. My rig was in a safe spot and I didn't give it a second thought as I dug into my backpack for my lunch. A half hour or so later we were done, and I powered up my tx only to discover that my servo had completely left the chat. Up close, you could smell it. Fortunately, I had a spare with me- but lesson learned. Thanks for an informative video!

Very nice and comprehensive video!
Often when I try to explain to newcomers how to set up their steering I see that they end up being overwhelmed and don't understand what I'm trying to say. Now I can steer them towards this video to help them understand their vehicle and how to make adjustments to the servo and steering.
Thank you very much!

must know! this is very well presented basic knowledge for all RC drivers. a link to this video should be included with every RC sold, especially with small RCs that break much more quickly

4:21 also more flex. adding wheel spacers, whatever form they come in, is a great mod. just make sure the servo you have can handle it and if it cant get one that can.

Good advice. And if I still manage to burn out a servo I'd just happily upgrade to a better one😁
