Definitely not paying attention to this for myself, because I don't believe a white lantern is that lethal. But I'm glad to have learned something today. If I ever entertain a Chinese person or am giving a gift, I must remember, no white lanterns!

I have white lampshade that is like half a lantern with frills. Near the bed as overhead ceiling light. Should I colour it? Or I feel it has been too harsh light anyway. But also can't see any of our clothes in the drawers! How can I see my clothes. Every day I dress like a mess! And I have to change in front of chi pathway.

is it ok to have white lampshades if you have a colour changing light bulb and you cast a colour so the shade is not giving off a white light???...er...asking for a friend who definitely didn't just buy a lamp with white lampshades.
