I just got a lesson on chipping walking through a lot of what Pete is talking about here. Game....changer.... no fear of duffs. I keep my weight a little more on my left to get better contact but I'll be dropping shots fast with this.

Spot on, as always. Excellent distillation of this important technique!
And for this to translate to lowering scores we need to take this info to a chipping area and do it over and over and over. So important. Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I was planning on working on my chipping this afternoon.

I basically do this but with a putter stroke, it's the 50 yard shots that I'm bad at. I've very good at sending it off at a 45 degree angle on those 50 yard half swing shots!

Thanks again! I seem to put side spin on my short chips. Maybe a lesson on that some day? Thanks!

Thanks Peter, I think a lot of us move the clubhead forward first. I'll have to try it your way.

Pete, are you rotating the forearms so the face opens at top of backswing, squares at impact, then closes at finish of downswing?

Pete, do you keep the same shafts in your wedges as your irons?

Wasn’t the same swing for the open club face. It was almost twice as long.

Why not keep the same set up and change the club accordingly. I coach 7 iron through to lob wedge depending on the situation with most amateur golfers. Spin can be a huge negative in some situations. Start mixing with set up only when tough situations occur…?

There is a difference between Keeping your head down and Keep watching the Ball

Looks more like a short pitch shot than a chip. Pretty sure a standard description of a chip a shot is where the ball rolls further than it flies.
