That thumbnail/eviction one reminds me a bit of a local listing I saw a couple years ago. I was casually browsing available apartments and saw an unbelievably affordable one for rent -- full one bedroom apartment attached to a larger private home, convenient location, clean, safe, quiet, for $800/month (rent is expensive where I live so a full apartment under $1000 is a rare steal and doesn't last long). I quickly realized why no one wanted it.

- "Private" but super thin walls
- Because of super thin walls and the owners living in the adjoining house, no noise (including music or a movie) after 10pm. One noisy incident = a warning. 2nd incident = eviction
- Absolutely no guests, pets, or children
- Regular inspections to make sure the apartment is kept in good condition
- Must be okay with temporarily leaving for a few days at a time if the owners want to let friends or family stay over
- Absolutely no cooking of meat, and no meat on the premises. If any smell of meat is detected or any meat packaging is seen, instant eviction.
- Must live a "clean" lifestyle

I mean, I guess for a quiet vegan neatfreak hermit who can drop $200-300/night for hotel rooms in the blink of an eye, inconvenience be damned, it'd be a nice place, but hell no, not for me.

I hope I NEVER become a bridezilla. Told my mom I want like a 20 minute ceremony and everyone can wear whatever casual thing they want so long as it isn’t a white dress (for obvious reasons) then we can party at the reception all day and night.

What I don't get is. Why is the guy who is asking for a Linux Laptop asking for a UPS? I can understand MAYBE needing one if the Laptop's Battery is shot (i.e. a Used Laptop), But 9 times out of 10, An Everyday User doesn't really need a UPS (For those who aren't Tech Savvy, UPS = Uninterruptible Power Supply)

I get it that small businesses are struggling these days, but what the flying fuck. You can't just not pay your workers. And how did that fucker think this was going to work? "Oh sorry sir, I'll just work for free for you for the rest of my life!" Did he seriously think you were going to be intimidated into staying? I hope that place goes out of business if its lead by a person like that. I imagine the other workers don't get much better treatment.
