Amazon, IBM & Microsoft Distance Themselves from Police Use of Facial Technology

Amazon announced yesterday it will ban the police use of its facial recognition technology for one year. This move comes just days after IMB announced an end to its facial recognition business entirely. Adding fuel to the fire, President Trump retweeted his Acting Director of the United States National Intelligence Richard Grenell this morning calling for these companies to now be barred from getting federal contracts.
