1973 Ford Mustang First Track Day in Home Built Restomod

This time on the AutoEdits channel... it's the first track day outing in the 1973 Ford Mustang we call "Large Marge"... and it goes AWESOME!
I slapped a set of NITTO NT05 tires on this thing and the Mustang performed fantastic.
The project took way longer than I had hoped to get to this point and if you get a moment... check the playlist of just about the full build here and see the trials and tribulations:

There are so many parts and components working together to make this project such a success on the road and on the racetrack. From the Total Control Products suspension and those gorgeous ET wheels to the BeCool radiator and Flaming River steering components!

If by chance you are considering going to your first track day experience... I'll show you the basics in this video of what to expect and how to navigate that. Pick a good organization like Speed Ventures like I did for this event and they'll make it as easy as possible for any skill level!

Thanks so much for coming along on this journey... it's been a long one and who knows what's next!

Here's my Instagram if you feel like following over there:

Any shopping you might do there or even just start there and search for other products, helps me a little bit and it's greatly appreciated!

I'm a little disappointed that it took YouTube 3yrs to recommend this video. Love your format. No nonsense footage. And the fact you took that model mustang on a track. Props! And honestly you drove it great. Passing newer lighter better technology cars. Great job!!

Advice on interior cam. Have it between the two seats so it gets more of the windshield and less of the interior, but you still want your hands in the shot. Make sure to light balance to the outside.

Just finished watching all the build videos of Large Marge. Was disappointed to find out you sold it. I was hoping to see you finish it up. Great build and you definitely made the old coupe cool.

I have been searching for a project car for awhile now and I was mostly targeting 2nd gen camaro or TA but I gotta be honest I'm loving the 71-73 mustang all because of your videos

That was absolutely awesome! A car that probably weights 3000lbs in its current config with probably 280-300hp is a pretty bitchen set up AND it has AC thats queen right there! Hope to see it on track and road trips more!

A true inspiration for any car guy who spends hours putting so much of themselves into their car. Then for a classic car group that "isnt supposed" to be able to do this. And lastly for the 71-73 crowd like us!!! LOVE THIS JASON!!! She tore that track up even better than some of the newer cars. AMAZING!

I am getting close to being able to go to my first track day in my 68 Mustang fastback. I cannot believe the amount of planning, evaluation of part options, money, time and emotional effort I have put into my build. I think it is the exact same as you expressed after you finished your first laps. Thanks for sharing and congrats.
