This video is sponsored by Benq. This is a brand new series specifically created to help you transition from After Effects to Nuke.
In this first video we do a basic introduction to get you started before you watch more advance videos about Nuke.

I will be showing, side by side, After Effects and Nuke trying to achieve the same result in both applications. We will be talking about the Interface, project settings, Import clips, playback, layers vs nodes, merging layers, blending Modes and exporting.

Love Love Love, thank you so much for putting this side by side with AE. I've been struggling with other tutorials on Nuke and end up being so confused, this was perfect. Don't apologize for the length, anyone who really appreciates the knowledge will watch no matter how long. Please keep this series coming, I feel that I am out growing AE because of the 32 float and having to use noise effect to remove banding etc. Project files to follow along would be cool! Thank you so much again.

Thank for tutorials man, I work professionally in post in LA but I found out all the big boys play with Nuke and not After effects so here I am ready to switch over just like I did in editing when i switched to Avid. And I thought learning another software was done with HA! So far you are the best I've found! Thanks! Subscribed!

Besides the awesome tut in general, info, pace etc, what is hard to see these days is the way you speak, the mouse movement, the calm voice! Everything, Welldone! Keep it up!!!

I love both (Nuke and AE) of them and I am always struggling while starting new projects to choose one of them, that's why i am searching "adobe after effects and nuke linking" on youtube and found your video.
Big Thanks to you(HUGO's DESK channel) for starting this initiative.

21:21 Probably the most important thing to have enabled in Ae.
Gamma 1.0 checked as well as color bit depth 32bpc float.

Thank you for this video, now I know why my Ae comps always looked weird.

Helped alot, to conclude: when you render in after effects you feel done and you don't get the feeling that you have total control over your vid. but for nuke, you feel like there is infinity options and that your ready to still make changes and that everything is now setup for you to do so. I am currently using after effects and have a few more things to learn in 3D compositing before I jump over to nuke as a main editing software, overall thnx for this vid, it was exactly the type of vid I was looking for. Have a great day

Thank you so much Hugo. I'm new on Nuke and you made it too easy to understand the differences between both programs, I will continue watching your tutorials, thanks again!
