When we need to express CERTAINTY & POSSIBILITY. WE need to use may/ might/ could to express different degrees of certainty
Let's have a look.It' possible/ likely ...
He's at home: He may/ might/ could be at home ( now)
He'll be at home tomorrow.: He may/ might/ could be home tomorrow
He was at home yesterday: He may/ might/ could have been at home yesterday
He leaves at 8;: He may/ might/ could leave at 8
He'll leave tomorrow: He may/ might/ could leave tomorrow
He left last night: He may/ might/ could have left last night
He's left : He may/ might/ could have left
He'll have left by noon. He may/ might/ could have left by noon
He's working today: He may / might/ could be working today.
He'll be working by 7 pm : He may/ might/ could be working by 7 pm
He's been working all day : He may/ might/ could have been working all day
He'll have been working all night: He may/ might/ could have been working all night
Remember :
1) modal + bare infinitive
2) modal + be + ing
3) modal + have + pp
4) modal + have been + ing
