as someone studying marine biology, I'm so happy he mentioned how bad sunscreen can be for reef systems. If you're going to the ocean for whatever reason (even if you have no intention of going in), there's many reef-safe options available <3

1- Make up wipes
2- Astringents & alcohol based toners
3- Chemical sunscreen (Oxybenzone)
4- Expensive moisturizers
5- Coconut oil (it’s not good for your face)

Please this is just a summary, but watch the video it’s really interesting

Back when I was a teenager and had bad skin, I really thought I needed plastic surgery. Good skin improves your confidence like 10x. I look in the mirror and actually like what I see now.

You know what I appreciate? I appreciate that this was not an AD. It is so nice to have a doctor actually just HELP without making me click to purchase. Thank you so much. You are a good doctor and a nice person. Subscribing and watching your ads in full.

Keeping yourself as stress free as possible is also key! I was in a toxic relationship and my skin would break out all the time. (I never experienced this before as I normally get 1-2 zits but nothing on a large scale) Now that hes no longer in my life my skin has cleared up and is better than ever x

This video was so required. We as customers are often fooled in the name of natural/ayurvedic ingredients, customised products and what not

It’s so refreshing to have a doctor teach and enlighten us rather than condescend us.

I would absolutely spend 20 minutes watching you go down a list of common ingredients, explaining what they do, then sorting them into the use and don't use categories. I'm the kind of person who will absolutely spend 20 minutes trying to look up the various ingredients to piece together a rough understanding of the functional ingredients in my skincare products to see if they're actually going to offer any benefit. For instance, learning that the size of most collagen compounds, hydrolyzed protein compounds, and royal jelly, etc. makes them too large to actually move into the skin opened my eyes to the actual function of these additives in the products. They don't penetrate the skin at all. They aren't what softens, nourishes, or rebuilds the structure like all the marketing claims. Instead, they're there to either aid in bonding the emollients to the skin, or to hold oils or water to the skin, or they act in a way to prevent premature evaporation of these products. So, while they do serve a function, they aren't really the active ingredients like, say, hyaluronic acid or ceramides are.

I’ve used coconut oil for years to take off my makeup! I double cleanse with another face wash! It’s worked for me :)

I found the same to be true for aftershaves. The alcohol based ones made me break out all over my chin but using a basic "ladies" face moisturizer instead, and I have no acne issues.
Great advice and videos Dr. Have a great day!
