Alberta premier faces backlash after calling unvaccinated people 'most discriminated against group'

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has just begun her new job and is already facing controversy. She said people who chose not to get vaccinated were "the most discriminated against group that I've ever witnessed in my lifetime."

In addition to backlash from Indigenous, Jewish, Muslim, and other marginalized groups in response, British Columbia's Premier John Horgan has also called Smith's comments "laughable."

I was in a 40-year long relationship with society. Then all of sudden, without warning, I was kicked to the curb. I'm not going to lie, it hurt. But I brushed myself off, took stock of the situation and realized that the relationship was codependent to begin with. Then, a few months later and just as without warning, society comes back to me and wants me to participate in a relationship again. No apology, no flowers, no assurance that she will never do this to me again. In fact, assurances that she *will* do this again under similar circumstances. Do you think I should take her back?

One of my kids went to a ski hill last year - wasn't allowed to use the restroom because of not having a V-passport. Had to use an unheated outhouse out back. There wasn't even a separate drinking fountain for my kid to use - at least the Blacks in the USA South had those provided for them up 'till the 60s.

I don't see what the issue is. I'm a Muslim living in Canada and I do agree that within these last couple of years, there's been a considerable amount of discrimination towards those who decided not to get the vaccine. Sure, I've received some form of discrimination in the past but focusing on these last 2 years in particular, you can say the unvaxxed have taken that unfortunate spotlight. She also clearly said that she does not infer that the other groups no longer experience discrimination. People need to be a little less sensitive these days.
