I loved they expanded on Effie's character and that they also included in her in mockingjay.

I thought that Peeta's loss of his leg was an important part of the story because it explained why he was tripping all the time in Catching Fire and it made him more... human and relatable. It was character development. I also missed (in the first movie) the right color for Buttercup, but they fixed that in the second movie -- thank you Francis Lawrence. And Prim's goat, Lady. As you said though, they can't add every little detail and it really is a good adaptation.

In the movies, I really would have enjoyed seeing more of Johanna in Mockingjay, especially the friendship she formed with Katniss.

For everything they had to leave out, they added something that was just as incredible and even more haunting.
The one thing, though, that I WISH that had been left in. Was the NUMEROUS nights on the train between Katniss and Peeta. I feel like their love and their connection would be so much more powerful if they had left more of those vulnerable moments together in the films. Either way - they did an amazing job. Breath-taking films. A++

I agree with all your points! I was also disappointed they left out Peeta's disability in CF + MJ as it's definitely an important aspect of his character. I also thought P/K had more chemistry in the books and there were a couple of little scenes I loved that were cut but overall, they were great adaptations!

Something that I missed in the movies was Finnick and Katniss's friendship. They touched on it a little bit in the films but in the books Finnick becomes Katniss's main source of comfort in District 13, when Peeta and Annie were in the Capital. It made Finnick a more relatable and loveable character and was also the reason why his death affected Katniss so much. Because it was left out, or only hinted at in the films, it made Finnick (whom let's agree... EVERYBODY loves) a lesser character. For people who didn't read the books it diminished his importance and makes his death less heartbreaking... in my opinion anyway. That's the main issue I have with the films...
Oh, and also the fact that they always got the Mutts wrong. It was annoying in the first with the Dogs... Because the added detail of the fur and the eyes just made them SOOO MUCH CREEPIER in the book. They did a pretty okay job in Catching Fire with the monkeys, but they ruined it completely with the lizard creatures in Mockingjay part 2... They were just completely wrong!!!

But I agree about the rebellions in the Districts. I LOVED the sequences with the promo and then seeing it's affects in the Districts. It was mind-blowing to watch.

I'm surprised Effie being in district 13 wasn't on this list. I thought it was so needed in the books even though it wasn't, because it fit so well in the movies.

I loved one of the last scenes of the first movie when Seneca Crane is locked in the room with the poison berries, even though it was really short, I think it was really powerful, and I loved it!

there is this one scene in Catching Fire, where Katniss and Finnick pull a prank on Peeta and scare him by waking him up and leaning close with their salve covered faces. It was one of my most favorite parts in all the three books. Because it's this small moment of friendship and playfulness and with such dark books/movies, these moments are really important.

I know what you mean in Mockingjay part 1 when they blow up the dame while singing the song. I get chills every time and I remember crying the first time I saw it, (I still tear up from time to time)

I really wanted to see Game's family more, Peeta's make up team, and the Peeta and Delly scene in Mockingjay after Peeta gets rescued from the Capitol but they couldn't squeeze in all these extra scenes in a movie due to length which is such a shame.

I really wanted to see Gale's family in the films! But like you said I understand that they couldn't put everything in the film, but I really wanted to see the scene in Mockingjay when Posy asked the green lady (whose name escapes me) if she was sick. That scene was SO cute and I'm super sad that it didn't make it into the movies.

This might be a perfect excuse to reread the series! I've been wanting to reread it for ages but SO MANY MORE BOOKS TO READ

I totally agree with you, I personally thought the movies were amazing adaptations and the scenes with the different districts rioting etc are some of my favourite and give me so MUCH EMOTION </3

I really wanted Madge in the movie, it was so sad that they decided to cut her out.
That District 5 scene was so brilliant! Watching it in the cinema was such an amazing experience

I loved that Effie appeared in the third and fourth movies, in the book she kind of disappears, but she was a great character and she had an amazing role in the last to movies! 😍 love your videos Jesse!😊

I've seen people talking about Peta's leg, I definitely would have loved to see that scene! But I've heard that it wasn't includes because all the blood would have made it rated R.
